In January 2017, a team from the Board spent a week in El Salitre teaching the women to sew menstrual kits for an order that we secured from a Texas Rotary Club. The kits are designed to empower teenage girls to stay in school during their periods and were distributed by American Peace Corps workers during their health classes in mountain villages. This project allowed our seamstresses to learn many important sewing skills. They continue to provide the kits when they receive orders.
